Shared Services

  • Eastern Caribbean Currency Authority (ECCA) โ€“ Managed the Eastern Caribbean dollar and maintained monetary stability (later replaced by the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank).
  • Eastern Caribbean Common Market (ECCM) โ€“ Facilitated free trade and economic integration among member states.
  • West Indies Associated States Supreme Court โ€“ Provided a shared judicial system, now called the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court.
  • Eastern Caribbean Tourism Association (ECTA) โ€“ Promoted the region collectively as a tourist destination.

Aims of the OECS

  • Strengthen cooperation among member states at regional and international levels.
  • Promote unity and solidarity while defending the sovereignty and independence of members.
  • Advance economic integration through the Eastern Caribbean Common Market.
  • Coordinate joint overseas representation to achieve shared foreign policy objectives.
