Sanjiv Chanai is an 18-year-old student leader and changemaker currently attending Asja Boys' College San Fernando in Trinidad and Tobago. He currently pursues CAPE level education in Caribbean Studies, Environmental Science, Biology, and Sociology — subjects that align closely with his passion for youth activism, advocacy, environmental sustainability and Human Development.

A proud advocate for young people, Sanjiv serves as the Executive Secretary of the Trinidad and Tobago Youth Advocacy Network (TTYAN), where he works to amplify youth voices in national conversations and promote meaningful civic engagement. After being awarded the AFS Global STEM Academies 2023 scholarship, he spent the summer in Europe exploring the advancements in European societies, sustainable development and diverse cultural perspectives. He is also a Qualified Facilitator with AFS Intercultural Programs, helping to bridge cultural divides and promote global understanding through youth exchanges and development opportunities producing the ever growing community of #globalchangemakers. Additionally, he is now a proud member and content contributor at Edukatte, where he continues sharing his passion for educational development.

At the school level, Sanjiv serves his 2nd term as the President of the Student Council, where he leads with vision, teamwork, and purpose. Under his leadership, initiatives have focused on empowerment, inclusion, and encouraging young men to become agents of positive change, aligning as well with his vision for the well known ABC CONTENT CLUB where he worked in the capacity of Head Editor of the club during the academic year 24/25. Additionally, he is an active member of the ASJA BOYS’ COLLEGE SAN FERNANDO INTERACT CLUB, where he serves as the treasurer on the executive board. Sanjiv continues to explore his mantra for Service above self in alignment with Rotary, where he serves in the capacity of the ASSISTANT DISTRICT INTERACT REPRESENTATIVE on the DISTRICT INTERACT COUNCIL of Rotary District 7030.

Driven by a mission of personal growth and human development, Sanjiv continues to pass on his expertise every day, in the form of psychological strengthening and motivational speaking, helping others develop their sense of leadership, will power to grow and confidence in being a changemaker in this society.
