Hadassah Maharaj is a multifaceted student with a passion for neurology and neurosurgery. She attends St. Joseph’s Convent, St. Joseph where she currently does CAPE Unit 2 : Biology, Chemistry and Pure Mathematics.

She sees studying medicine and being a surgeon as an act of faith in human resilience, and a commitment to stand at the fragile intersections of life where science alone is not enough, and where humility, empathy, and humanity carries the rest.

Hadassah has a strong belief in the importance of creating a balance between extracurricular activities and academics. She exudes this through her involvement in multiple music related projects with the Trinidad and Tobago Youth Philharmonic Orchestra and her school. At the orchestra, she assists younger students with reading and learning to phrase their music (for ABRSM cello).

She believes that there is no set time frame for improvement or success. You just have to simply start, and remember that you are only as limited as you allow yourself to be.
