Anatomy

Anatomy of Teeth

Enamel

Dentin

Pulp

Contains all Nerves and Blood Vessels.

Blood Vessels

Supplies tooth with nutrients.

Types of Teeth

Incisors

They are sharp and chisel like, are used for cutting. There are 4 incisors on top and 4 on the bottom.

Canines

They are pointy and sharp, and are used for ripping and tearing meat. There are 2 on the top and 2 on the bottom.

Pre-Molars

These are broad and flat, are designed for crushing and grinding.

Molars

These are also broad and flat, are designed for crushing and grinding.

$PM = \cfrac{2}{2}$

$M = \cfrac{3}{3}$

Caring for the Teeth

Cavity

Left over sugar from food is consumed by bacteria who produce acid as a waste product. These acids, over time breakdown and chip away the teeth, from the enamel to the dentine then to the pulp, forming a cavity, where you will feel pain (a tooth ache).
