-To avoid repeating oneself, pronouns are used instead.

Direct Object Pronouns

Me/m’ Te/t’ Le/la/l’ Nous Vous Les

Indirect Object Pronouns

Me/m’ Te/t’ Lui Nous Vous Leur

-In order to know which one to use, you’ll just have to memorize which ones use which.

Examples:

Je lui réponds maintenant. I’m answering him now. (I’m responding to him now)

Je lui ai dit que c’était moi. I told him/her that it was me. (I said to him)

Elle la regarde. She is watching her.

-These pronouns are used after a preposition, exclamations, and after ‘c’est’.

C’est moi! It’s me!

Viens avec moi! Come with me!

Nous! Us!
