The main components of a computer
Input, Output, Storage and Processing
The Purpose of the main components of a computer system:
Input- To accept information from the user
Output- To send information to the user
Storage- To hold data either temporarily or permanently in a memory location
Processing- To manipulate data
Description of the following Hardware Components-
- Input/output devices
These are used to allow for the user to send information to the computer and for the computer to send information to the user.
- Port connectivity
A virtual port that is created to serve virtual network connections in the sense of being their beginning and end.
- Speed
The overall time something takes to complete
- Quality of output
The degree of which the product meets the initial requirements
Specialized devices to include:
- Braille keyboard
Designed for those that are visually impaired to that they can type due to the textures on the keyboard
- Sensors
Sensors are used to detect changes in the environment such as weight or motion
- Touch screen
A device which allows the user to interact with a computer by touching areas of the screen
- Concept keyboard.
Like a traditional keyboard but each key is identified by an image.
